In 2019, a Hindu teacher was arrested in Sindh's Ghotki district for allegedly making religiously insulting remarks. After five years, the court has ordered the acquittal of this teacher.

According to a Pakistani newspaper report, the court said that no evidence has been presented to prove the allegations against the teacher. So if there is no other pending case against this teacher then he should be released immediately.

Even after the court order, the family members of this teacher have expressed concern about their safety and said that there is a threat to the life of the teacher.

Sukhdev Hemnani, a member of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, said that for five years the teacher was kept in jail on charges of insulting religious remarks. The court finally acquitted him. We are trying to protect him and his family.

It is worth mentioning that a student of the school complained to his father against this Hindu teacher saying that the teacher had made insulting religious remarks. The student made a video viral in this regard. Following which the teacher was arrested. The school where this teacher was teaching was also closed.

After the accusation was made against the teacher, the enraged people attacked the school as well as Hindu temples in the area.

However, many social and political activists raised questions after the police arrested the teacher. However, after five years of court proceedings, the teacher was finally acquitted by the court.
