Shehbaz Sharif: The political drama that has been going on for several days in Pakistan has come to an end today. A new Prime Minister has been announced today, in which former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's younger brother Shahbaz Sharif has been elected as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq announced that PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has been elected as the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan by securing 201 votes.

He filed his candidacy for the post of Prime Minister on Saturday

Shahbaz Sharif filed his candidature for the post of Prime Minister on Saturday. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Party announced to form the government in alliance with Pakistan People's Party and Muttahida Communi Movement Party. Shahbaz Sharif needed 169 votes in the 336-member Pakistani Senate to become the Prime Minister, of which he got 201 votes and became the Prime Minister. It is worth mentioning that former Prime Minister Imran Khan's opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has only 102 senators.

Shabbaz became the Prime Minister for the second time

Shahbaz Sharif will take oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. He has previously been the Prime Minister of Pakistan from April 2022 to August 2023. He also ran the government in alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party then. Shahbaz's elder brother Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan with the hope of becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He hoped that after getting a clear majority, he himself would become the Prime Minister again, but the matter was messed up as no party got a clear majority in this election of Pakistan. Then again the coalition government is going to be formed.
