Hamas has rejected Israel's offer of a temporary ceasefire and said, "We want a permanent ceasefire in Gaza." Once the fighting stops, talks can be held to release the hostages.
Qatar has made efforts with the help of Egypt and America to bring about a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. As part of which, a meeting was held in Paris between the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman, the director of the American spy agency CIA, Bill Burns, the head of Mossad, David Barnia and the head of the Egyptian spy agency, Abbas Kamel. In which a proposal for a truce was prepared.
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed said that a plan has been drawn up to implement a phased cease-fire. Part of that included the decision to first release women and children and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
However, Hamas has rejected this offer and said that the war should be stopped first and only then there will be talks for the release of the hostages.
Israel says that 130 hostages are still in the custody of Hamas. Earlier, Hamas had released around 100 hostages during a week-long ceasefire. However, Hamas once again rejected the offer of a temporary ceasefire and said that we will release the hostages only after the Israeli army completely withdraws from Gaza and the Palestinian citizens imprisoned in Israeli prisons are released.
