During the excavations of temples and other buildings built in ancient times, things are found that are hard to believe. One such case has come up. Archaeologists were stunned when they excavated beneath a temple in an ancient Egyptian city. They are considering what they saw as a miracle. This discovery was made in Egypt. Archaeologists have discovered a huge tunnel under a temple in the ancient ruined city of Taposiris Magna in what experts have described as a 'geometrical miracle'.

During ongoing excavations at the temple, Kathleen Martinez of the University of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and her team discovered the tunnel 13 meters (43 ft) below ground level. Here a 2 meter long tunnel was made of sandstone. According to Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the design of the tunnel is similar to the 1,306-meter-long Tunnel of Euplinos. It is an aqueduct built on an island in Greece. Which is often called a miracle of engineering. This tunnel found in Taposiris Magna is also being called an engineering miracle.

It is not yet known what the tunnel was used for. However, some part of it was found submerged in water. Martinez has been working at Taposiris Magna since 2004. They are there in search of the missing tomb of Cleopatra VII. Now the tunnel is seen as a hopeful clue. Taposiris Magna was founded by Ptolemy II around 280 BC. He was the son of Alexander's famous general and one of Cleopatra's ancestors. The team believes that the temple was dedicated to the god Osiris and his queen Isis. Cleopatra had a strong connection with this deity.
