Israel-Hamas War: The Israel-Hamas war began on October 7. On October 7, Hamas fighters entered Israel and attacked. Hamas fighters not only attacked Israel but also killed people and kidnapped them and took them with them to the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is a place controlled by Hamas. On the other hand, Israel retaliated with heavy bombardment in Gaza. Due to which the entire area has become a ruin.
This is why the Israel-Hamas war is being called one of the worst wars of the 21st century. There has been such a massive loss of life in this war that it was not even imagined. Even though there is peace due to ceasefire in 4 days but still the loss due to war has created a humanitarian crisis. Hospitals have become dilapidated and people are running out of food and drink. Humanitarian aid is also being sent intermittently in the seven-week war.
How many people died in the war?
The Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that 14,800 Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israeli bombardment. This includes 6000 children and 4000 women. Israel has said that 1,200 people were killed in the attack on October 7, which means that 16,000 people on both sides have been killed. United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement that the 7-week-long war between Israel and Hamas has taken a horrific turn, shocking the world.

Why is the Israel-Hamas war the worst war of the 21st century?
People are dying in Gaza faster than the US-led wars in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan in the 21st century. 12,000 people were killed in the 2003 war in Iraq. When the US-led operation to liberate the Syrian city of Raqqa from the Islamic State took place in June and October 2017, only 1,600 people were killed.
Israel has compared the ongoing operation in Gaza to the Iraqi city of Mosul to eliminate the Islamic State. America has also warned Israel against doing so. Between 9,000 and 11,000 people have died in the nine-month war in Mosul, while nearly 15,000 have been killed in Gaza in the past seven weeks. This shows how quickly people are losing their lives in Gaza.
6000 Palestinian children have died in Gaza so far. The number of children who have lost their lives in Gaza over the past three years has doubled compared to the number of children who have died due to war and internal conflict. Last year, 2,985 children were killed in the world's major conflicts, with 6,000 children killed in Gaza alone.
