Former Chinese PM Li Keqiang dies of heart attack, decades of experience working with Xi Jinping

Chinese state television confirmed

A report on Chinese state television said the 68-year-old Li died suddenly at midnight on Thursday while on a visit to Shanghai. However, despite all efforts to save him, there was no success.

Lee was known as a top leader

Li was once considered a potential top leader of the ruling Chinese Communist Party. But he eventually overtook Xi and became China's prime minister in 2013. Over the next 10 years, he led Chinese government ministries, but appeared less powerful than previous prime ministers, including Li. Instead, Xi Jinping's policy dominates.
