Washington, 30 September 2023, Saturday

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who visited America, is exposing Canada by striking one after another amid the ongoing dispute between Canada and India over the killing of a Khalistan terrorist, Nijjar.

In a press conference in Washington on Friday, he said, "I have heard what the Americans have to say on the India-Canada dispute, but I hope they have also heard what I have said." I think, now that both sides have expressed their views, I don't know what else I have to say other than this.

He said that every incident has a context. I think Canada and India have to talk to each other. So it will be known how this issue will proceed. If you (Americans) tell someone in India that some people in Canada are inciting violence, no one in India will be surprised. Because everyone knows the history there. I think that very few people in America know about this and what I talked about in the meeting today is new knowledge for the people of America.

He said that both America and India see Canada in different ways and this is also a part of the problem. So it is very important that America talks to us about Canada. Because after all America is a good friend of India and America should know India's point of view on Canada issue.

Jaishankar further said that whatever attitude we have adopted against Canada is right. Our diplomats in Canada are being threatened to such an extent that they are finding it difficult to carry out their daily work. If there is such a situation in a member country of the G-7 group, it is something to think about for America.
