Recently, it was revealed in the Pakistani Senate that 90 percent of those caught begging abroad are Pakistanis. Now the Pakistani authorities have started showing strictness by taking note of this. Pakistan's central agency on Friday caught a group of beggars on their way to Saudi Arabia at the airport. All these people were going as pilgrims. In which women and children were also involved.
The Pakistani newspaper quoted official Khalid Anis as saying that there is an agent named Noor behind all this. He helps to take people to the holy city of Saudi Arabia and there these people beg. A total of eight women, four men and four children have been arrested. who are residents of Punjab province.
According to the report, the people arrested at Multan airport are being interrogated further.
It is worth mentioning that the Secretary to the Government of Pakistan Jishan Khanzada informed the Standing Committee in the Senate that about one million citizens of Pakistan are abroad and many of them are begging. They take visas of other countries and then start begging there. In many cases, flights departing from Pakistan are full of beggars. 90 percent of people detained in Arab countries are Pakistani beggars.
