Pakistan Election: Who will become the acting Prime Minister of Pakistan? Discuss these five names
In Pakistan, the current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's term is coming to an end next month, now there is an uproar in the neighboring country over the name of the new acting Prime Minister. Along with this, a proposal has been made for general elections in November. A caretaker government has to be formed to handle the affairs of the country for such a long time. In such a situation, the ruling PDM coalition is going on a tug-of-war over the election of the caretaker government.
The coalition parties elected a total of five leaders
Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Asif Ali Zardari is holding frequent meetings with Nawaz Sharif on this issue in Dubai. Meanwhile, it has been claimed that the coalition parties have elected a total of five leaders, one of whom may be made the acting Prime Minister. According to Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People's Party have decided that a politician will be selected for the post of acting prime minister and five names have been shortlisted. However, he did not give any date for the final decision. Khawaja Asif only said that PPP and PML-N have finalized four to five names which will be discussed with other parties and one name will be finalized in a week.
Election possible within 90 days
Pakistani Defense Minister also said that according to me elections should be held in 90 days and it is also suitable for us. My personal opinion is that elections should be held before 90 days. I think the National Assembly will be dissolved two days before its term. Apart from this, he also clarified that he neither proposed the name of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for the post of acting Prime Minister nor expressed any desire at any level. He said that Dar had never expressed such intention on any platform. Earlier this week there were rumors that Ishaq Dar was a possible candidate for the post of caretaker prime minister. However, neither Dar nor any other PML leader refuted the rumours. On the other hand, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the Finance Minister can be appointed to this post. Later, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif rejected Dar's nomination claim and the PPP also opposed his appointment.
Shahbaz will talk to Fazlur Rehman
JUIF Senator Kamran Mortaza said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will take a final decision on the selection of acting Prime Minister in a day or two after discussing with JUIF chief Fazlur Rehman. Apart from this shortlisting of candidates will be done by PM Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed as the same will be valid for final decision. Senator Kamran, who is the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, said that each member party of the Pakistan Democratic Movement has the right to present its recommendations but the final decision will be taken by the leadership of the coalition.
