Moharram processionists pelted heavy stones on police in Delhi, 10 injured

New Delhi: People who took out a huge Muharram procession in Nangloi area of ​​Delhi pelted stones on the police. In which 10 policemen were injured. For this procession, the administration tried to leave the route that was decided earlier and take the procession to another route. He was later stopped by the police. So the protesters pelted stones on the police. In which many police vehicles were also vandalized.

Those taking out the Muharram procession also pelted stones on a bus passing nearby. In which some passengers were also injured. Later, the police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the violent mob.

At present, a large number of police personnel have been deployed in the area and the situation has been brought under control. The police have now started searching for the stone pelters and perpetrators of violence on the basis of CCTV footage, videos, pictures etc.

Local DCP Harendrasingh said that a crowd of around 10,000 people was carrying Tajiya in the Moharram procession on the designated route on Saturday. The procession was going on completely peacefully. However, at the last moment, the organizers refused to take out the procession from the route from which the administration had given permission and insisted on taking it to another route. Some people started entering the nearby stadium. Thus, the police tried to stop people from going on unscheduled routes. Videos of the entire incident have also surfaced. More than 10 people were injured in stone pelting on the police while several vehicles were damaged.

The protestors resorted to violence only when the police refused to take the procession on an unauthorized route.

The mob pelted stones on the police for about 20 minutes. Not only that, the surrounding transport vehicles like buses etc. were also targeted. Some passengers tried to save themselves by taking shelter under the bus seat. The video about this is also going viral. Now the police have started identifying the accused based on these evidences and said that arrests will also be made.
