Merchant ships plying the Red Sea are being attacked by the Iran-backed Houthi group active in Yemen in support of Hamas, which is fighting Israel in Gaza.

To prevent this, America has also deployed naval ships with the help of its allies. However, the Houthi group has managed to sink a merchant ship in its biggest attack to date.

This is the first ship named Rubimar to be sunk due to an attack. The movement of merchant ships is being affected by the Houthi attacks. Many ships are also changing their course.

The ship Rubimar was targeted by the Houthi group with a ballistic missile in the Bab Al Mandeb Strait on February 18. Now it has been confirmed that the ship has sunk. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center of the British Army has also said that this ship has capsized in the sea.

On the other hand, there are also chances of chemicals loaded in ships leaking into the sea and causing damage to aquatic ecosystems.
