India's UPI payment system is being talked about all over the world. Now the European country Greece has also accepted the UPI payment system.

This system for making digital payments is popular outside India in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Bhutan, Nepal, UAE and Canada, but now in Europe, after France, Greece has also announced to adopt this system.

Recently Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited India and met PM Modi. After that, both the countries have also signed an MoU for UPI payment system.

Under this agreement, both countries will be able to use UPI for payment of funds in areas under their respective jurisdictions, as well as for settlement of any disputes. Especially people of Indian origin living in Greece will be able to easily remit money to India through UPI.

NPCI International Payments Limited, the international arm of National Payments Corporation of India, which operates the UPI system, has signed an MoU with Eurobank of Greece at the Embassy of Greece in New Delhi. Due to this, it will be easier for Indian tourists living in Greece to send money to India.

Meanwhile, Railway and Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has shared the information about the agreement between India and Greece on social media.
