Hundreds of supporters turn up at Navalny's funeral, chants call Putin a murderer, 100 detained

Alexei Navalny, a staunch opponent of Russian President Putin, was laid to rest in Moscow on Friday after his mysterious death in prison.

Despite the Russian government handing over the body to Navalny's family on condition that the burial be kept secret and tight security in place, the funeral was attended by large crowds.

Navalny's supporters chanted slogans against Putin and even shouted slogans that Putin is a murderer. Police also detained around 100 supporters of Navalni.

A large number of security forces were deployed during Navalny's funeral. So that people do not gather in large numbers. However, supporters of Novelni reached the place of last rites. Navalni's parents were also present. The supporters shouted slogans against Putin and said that Putin is a murderer and he will never be forgiven. The ambassadors of France and Germany were also present in the final ceremony.

However, Navalni's wife Yulia could not attend the event. She paid tribute to her husband on social media. Yulia has already blamed Putin for her husband's murder.
