Putin gifts dictator Kim Jong Un with expensive car, UNGC proposal violated

Moscow, February 20, 2024, Tuesday

Russian President Vladimir Putin has gifted a Russian car to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. This gift is being seen as a mutually strengthening relationship between the two leaders. According to reports, the Orus Senate limousine was shown to Kim Jong Un during a tour of Russia's Vostochan spaceport during a summit held in September.

Putin was also given a trip in a Russian-made luxury car. Russia reported gifting a luxury car to Kim Yo Jong, the secretary of Korea's ruling Workers' Party and sister of the North Korean leader. Kim Yo Jong thanked brother Kim Jong Un for giving him an expensive gift.

A North Korean delegation is visiting Russia. However, Kim Jong-un's gift to Putin is considered a violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions. North Korea violates international law on nuclear and missile programs.

Hence, financial restrictions have been placed on it. According to the rules of sanctions, Kim Jong Un owns various vehicles such as Mercedes-Maybach S-Class vehicles and limousines, which may cause controversy.
