Biden's 'U-turn' on Gaza War Presents Alternative Draft to UNSC for Short Ceasefire
- Israel also protested the attack on Rafaz: asked Hamas to release the prisoners and insisted on sending humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
UNO: In the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the United States presented an alternative draft for a cease-fire in Gaza and also opposed the attack by Israel in the Rafah area.
In a sudden U-turn on its traditional stance, the US has experimented with the term cease fire. The term he was reluctant to use before. But in this draft, the Biden administration explicitly mentions a ceasefire.
In addition to an immediate ceasefire, Hamas has been requested to release its captives, and all countries, especially the Allies, have been requested to remove all obstacles in the Gaza Strip and send large-scale humanitarian aid.
Along with this, the US said that it does not want to rush to introduce a vote on this draft. He insists on setting aside time for conversation. A senior American official said that.
The official further said that the draft also targeted injuries to civilians and forced displacement. It was also said that the citizens are also going to the neighboring countries. If there is a heavy attack on Rafat, its repercussions will not be without falling on the surrounding countries as well. Hence the peace and security of that area will be threatened. Therefore, in these circumstances, there should not be a ground attack on Rafah.
It is well known that the US has historically consistently defended Israel from action in the UN. But this resolution differs from its historical trend. Regarding this, UNO's International Crisis Group Director Richard Golan said that the presentation of this draft is only a warning for Israel, that Israel should understand that the diplomatic support provided by America will not last forever.
It is worth mentioning that, against the huge invasion of Israel, there is a protest all over the world even in America itself and thousands of people are coming on the roads with placards demanding a cease fire.
