New Delhi: The Government of India has requested the Ministry of External Affairs of Pakistan to hand over Hafiz Saeed, Pakistan's most wanted terrorist, to India. Hafiz Saeed is the mastermind of the 26-11 terror attacks in Mumbai. According to Pakistani media, India has officially made a formal demand before the Ministry of External Affairs. However, this demand of India has provoked Pakistan. He has made a meaningless statement infuriating Hindutva and Kashmir. On the other hand, Hafiz Saeed's party is preparing to contest the general elections in Pakistan.
According to the report of Pakistan Media Islamabad Post, the Government of India has officially requested the extradition of India to the Ministry of External Affairs of Pakistan. India has requested Pakistan's foreign ministry to initiate legal proceedings for Hafiz's extradition. America has also announced a reward on Hafiz Saeed's organization Lashkar-e-Toiba and has declared it a terrorist organization. America has put a reward of 1 million dollars on Hafiz Saeed.
As the status of Hafiz Saeed remained uncertain in Pakistan for years, before the Financial Action Task Force reviewed the funding of terrorist organizations in Pakistan, under the pressure of international organizations, Pakistan arrested Hafiz Saeed in July 2019 and sentenced him to 11 years.
However, Hafiz Saeed has been arrested and released several times in Pakistan over the past few decades. Last year, India also declared Hafiz Saeed's son Talha Saeed as a terrorist. The same Talha Saeed is currently preparing to contest general elections under the banner of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League. Pakistan has poisoned the issue of Hindutva and Kashmir by demanding the extradition of Hafiz Saeed. Pakistan's foreign ministry said that there has been no major improvement in relations with India. In addition, Pakistan accused the Modi government of implementing a hardline Hindutva agenda.
A Pakistani spokesperson alleged that India was arbitrarily abusing it in the region and creating hurdles in normal bilateral relations.
