Ahead of the elections to be held in February in Pakistan, the Election Commission has given a big blow to the party of former PM Imran Khan. The Election Commission has announced the list of 175 political parties of Pakistan for the elections to be held on February 8.

These are the political parties that will participate in the elections as registered political parties but Imran Khan's name has been omitted as the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. According to the Election Commission, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is now a leaderless party.

Earlier, Imran Khan's bat symbol has also been taken back from his party. The Pakistan Tehreek has taken back the symbol allotted to it by the Election Commission expressing dissatisfaction over the internal elections held in Insaf.

Thus the situation of Imran Khan's party is sitting before the elections. Imran Khan himself has been in jail since August. Before this he was removed from the post of Prime Minister. On the other hand, the supporters of Imran are alleging that due to the popularity of Imran Khan in the country, the Election Commission is taking such decisions under the pressure of the Pakistan Army.
