Yesterday, Gaza's Ministry of Health said that more than six and a half thousand people have been killed in Israel's retaliatory attack. According to Israeli government figures, Israel has fired more than 7,600 rockets at Gaza since October 7.
What did the IDF say?
In this matter, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) says that although the main center of Hamas is in Gaza City, it still spreads among ordinary citizens. The Israeli army says that only the houses in which terrorists live are being targeted, even if civilians are also living with them. A senior officer of the Israeli Air Force says that Hamas terrorists are also taking shelter in private houses that are not private.
America and Russia presented the proposal in the UNSC
The US introduced a resolution at the UNSC, calling for a humanitarian truce, but not a ceasefire. It also spoke on ensuring that any resolution passed by the Security Council blames Hamas for the violence in Israel and Gaza. At the same time, Russia's proposal called for a focus on a cease-fire in Gaza. The United States, Albania, France, Ecuador, Gabon, Ghana, Japan, Malta, Switzerland and Britain voted in favor of the US resolution. Brazil and Mozambique abstained from voting. At the same time, Russia's resolution calling for a cease-fire in Gaza was voted in favor of four, including Russia and China. The US and Britain voted against the resolution, while nine other members abstained. If the Russian proposal received enough votes to be approved, the US vetoed it.
