Amid the ongoing dispute with India, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made a low-key apology for honoring a Nazi official in Parliament.
A Nazi military officer was honored when President Zelensky of Ukraine addressed the Canadian Parliament. The officer became a worldwide scapegoat for Canada after it was revealed that he had fought under Germany during the Second World War. As a result, the Speaker of the Parliament of Canada has to resign.
When Trudeau briefly realized the seriousness of this incident, it is his turn to apologize. Trudeau said that the Speaker in the House of Commons has taken responsibility for inviting a Nazi official. Even though it was a mistake to invite this official, it has embarrassed Canada. This is regretted by all the members of Parliament who stood and applauded in honor of this officer.
Trudeau further said that the Nazis killed millions of Jews during the World War. For the relatives of all these Jews, it is very sad to see the honor of a Nazi official.
Notably, Nazi officer Yaroslav Hunka was honored as a war hero of Ukraine in the Parliament of Canada. The fact that this officer had fought under the command of the German Army in Ukraine has caused outrage in Canada.
