The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that a magnitude 7 earthquake struck the Bali Sea region of Indonesia. The EMSC also reported that the epicenter was 201 km north of Mataram, Indonesia, and 518 km below the Earth's surface.
Last year, 300 people died in the earthquake
Indonesia is a very seismically sensitive area. An earthquake in Indonesia's West Java province in November last year killed 300 people and injured thousands. The magnitude of that earthquake was measured at 5.6 on the Richter scale. Apart from this, it was stated on behalf of the US Tsunami Warning System that there is no tsunami threat due to the deep sea earthquake.
