Britain air traffic control fault resolved but chaos will continue for several days

( PTI) London ,dt. 29

The technical issue with air traffic control has been resolved but flights will continue to be affected as airlines face difficulties in diverting stranded passengers to alternative flights.

It is worth mentioning that on Monday morning, there was a malfunction in Britain's air traffic control computer system. Due to which many flights had to be cancelled. Suspicions of a cyber attack were raised on social media. In this regard, Transport Minister Mark Harper clarified that there was no fault in the traffic control system due to the cyber attack.

He said a cyber attack was not behind the technical glitch that hit the air traffic control system on Monday. Harper said that in the last ten years there was no malfunction in this system. Generally this system works very well.

Pradhan further said that an independent inquiry will be conducted into the incident and the report will be released in a few days. The fault in the system was removed on Monday afternoon itself.

However, he further said that people will still face some disruption today as airlines will take time to reschedule flights to take their stranded passengers to their destinations. It may be mentioned that more than 500 flights were canceled in Britain yesterday.
