Indian-origin doctor sentenced for sexually abusing patient in UK


A 34-year-old Indian-origin doctor currently in the UK has been sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2020 for sexually abusing one of his patients. Simon Abrahams, of Eastbourne, East Sussex, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a female patient after a four-day trial at Chichester Crown Court this month, according to police.

The court heard that Abraham, who worked at Eastbourne District General Hospital, approached the woman in October 2020, who had gone for treatment for headaches. He claimed that he had trained in massage for two years in India and could treat her. She agreed to this, but he sexually assaulted her during the massage. After that the woman complained to the police.
