Putin calls Wagner Group rebel leader Yevgeny Prigozhin a puppet of Ukraine
Moscow, June 28, 2023, Wednesday
Russian President Putin has described the Wagner conflict as a seal led by Yevgeny Prigozhin. The whole conspiracy was in Ukraine with Wagner as the puppet leader. This was a kind of treason and a terrible conspiracy against Russia. He called Prigozhin the biggest threat to his power. In a five-minute TV address at midnight on June 26, Wagner called the feud a betrayal of the country in very strong language.
Without naming Putin, the organizer of the feud forced his own soldiers to shoot him. Enemies believed that the Wagner uprising would leave Russia divided and weak. After Prigozhin's coup, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Putin held a closed-door meeting to devise a strategy to dislodge the dissidents marching in Moscow. After the feud subsided, there is evidence that some locals also supported the feud by stating that the entire country was united.
Russia's President Putin has not had the expected success in Ukraine. However, the greatest relief is that the Wagner Rebellion did not result in bloodshed at home. The mercenaries who announced the Moscow march put Putin's political career at stake. However, rebel Yevgeny Prigozhin aired a short video to defend his methods. In a short video address released by himself, he criticized the Russian army. However, he denied Putin's coup attempt.
Wagner's army halted its Moscow march with the intervention of Belarusian dictator Lukashenka. Putin has also announced that no action will be taken. Currently, the rebel Prigozhin has taken refuge in Belarus but is forced to live in fear that Putin's government may execute him. Putin appears to have forgotten the rebellion for now but his anger could explode at Prigosan at any time.
