The burning of the Quran on the Eid festival in Sweden has caused a deep reaction in the Islamic world. Muslim countries around the world are furious with Sweden.

Now the President of Russia Putin has also expressed his anger. Putin, who visited Dagestan, which is dominated by the Muslim community of Russia, expressed his displeasure against the incident of insulting the Quran and said that even though this type of act is practiced in some countries, it is a punishable crime in Russia. This kind of behavior cannot be done in Russia.

Putin said that insulting the Holy Quran is seen as a crime in the Constitution of Russia. If someone does such an act in Russia, he will be punished.

Notably, Putin also visited the historic mosque of Dagestan and met Muslim leaders during his visit. The Muslim community also gifted him a copy of the Quran. He said that Quran is sacred for Muslims and similarly it should be sacred for others.
